Job Title: Teacher Librarian
Organisation: Beaconsfield College, Pakenham Campus
Skills:
- Strong digital literacy skills
- Ability and experience in coordinating the range of library functions
- Ability in the use and management of Library computer systems, the Internet and online databases
- Teaching skills to deliver information literacy classes across Preparatory – Year 8
- Ability to implement a wide range of programs including problem based learning, digital information literacy and research skills
- Ability to build and foster students' capacity for inquiry and critical thinking
- Communication and interaction skills to deal with parents, staff and the broader College community effectively
- Flexible approach to planning, teaching and evaluating co-operatively with teachers
Qualifications:
- The Teacher Librarian must hold (or be in the process of obtaining) the registration with the Victorian Institute of Teachers
- Hold first aid qualifications (HLTAID003 or equivalent) or be willing to gain them
- Australian citizenship or permanent residence
Other:
- The Teacher Librarian will report to and take direction from the Head of Information Services, and will be accountable to the Campus Principal and the Headmaster
- The position is full-time and ongoing
- A flexible start date could be negotiated for the right candidate
